Reading right before falling asleep

I like to read an any opportune time. When you have a 1 and a 3 year old, its hard to find moments throughout the day, but I still manage. Night time is usually dedicated to my husband, but last night he decided he wanted to watch the State of the Union address. I don't like that kind of stuff.. *gag* Don't judge me. A few days ago, I fell asleep watching the Republican debates, (his choice) and was left with a not so peaceful night of dreaming. Last night I chose to read. I do love to read. Right now I am reading the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Great books! What is currently on my nightstand?

Word of warning: GREAT book, but if you read about traveling through a Labyrinth, meeting demons, and all other types of mystical monsters, you WILL dream about them.

New Year, Same Me, New ideas

I am not a fan of resolutions. They are usually over done, and when its in your head that it is a "resolution" you will eventually fail. Thats my opinion anyway. If you want to make a change, make it, don't save it for the new year, don't call it a resolution, just make the change.

With that said, I did make myself a resolution this year, anyway. Despite my opinions. I cut out Fast Food from my diet. I did this a few years ago, and lasted until May. That went well, so why not this year? Funny thing happened. My husband came home with Taco Bell last night.

My resolution to not have fast food, lasted an entire week. Oh well! It was good lol.

Another thing I am going to try out this year, which WILL probably stick, just because it will make my life a little easier, is to set certain days to do things. I usually just do all the chores every single day (aside from mopping which is every other, don't think I am superwoman, I have a shark, mopping is a piece of cake lol)

I am going to set a Laundry day (Preferably Saturdays, electricity cost less on the weekends.. did you know that??? I just learned that recently)

Dishes will as usual, be done EVERY day.. because well, they need to be.

I will clean the fridge once per week, (thursdays, since garbage goes out on fridays) instead of waiting until its too late and its a huge quest to get it clean.

And my windows should not go unnoticed. :\  I am bad at keeping windows clean. I am also bad at dusting. I MUST find a time and day to do both.

Aside from cleaning, I will also be preparing menu's for dinner throughout the week, and using that as a tool for picking up groceries. This way I am not grabbing a lot of random crap I don't need, or will "probably use" and end up throwing away. This is a must. I am so sick of wasting food, and everything edible being gone 3 days after grocery shopping, and having "nothing good to eat" for another 4 days. Its quite annoying. If we do have an awesome stock of groceries in your pantry, maybe take out wouldn't' happen so frequently.

I also need to utilize my crock pot MUCH more often. its just sitting there, staring at me.. begging to be used.

Ok that is all my rambling for today. Do you have any resolutions for the year??
